When I first met Angela I was very hesitant to sign up for the gym and for the 8 week health and fitness program that she was hosting. I found myself making excuses not to join, but yet I was the one who walked in the door and was enquiring about joining. I needed to break the bad habits and the excuses. Once I signed up Angela became my personal trainer and a huge support person.
I started at 100.3 kg in January 2012 I had 9 months to lose 30 kg for my dream wedding day. Before making the choice to change my lifestyle I was depressed and hiding from the world I hated going out with my friends and hated having my photo taken. I just didn’t want to feel so big anymore! I had started to grow out of my clothes and I kept getting bigger and bigger.
In my first week I was excited and ready to change my life. I got a huge shock when I had my first Personal training session with Angela and found it a huge effort to get up off the floor; that in its self was exercise enough for me. Angela spent so much time tailoring a meal plan to my likes and dislikes. I found it very easy to stick to the plan. My life became about planning ahead and scheduling my workouts ahead of time so I couldn’t make excuses not to go.
I started to work out twice a day and did personal training 3 times a week. Angela pushed me and brought out the best in me. She really encouraged me to keep up the great work and always made me feel so good about myself. We set fortnightly goals and reviewed my meal plan every two weeks. I found the more I worked out the more I loved it. My mind, body and soul were changing week by week. I had bad days and good days but I always had the support and encouragement from Angela every step of the way.
After 8 weeks I lost a huge 15.4 kg. My new lifestyle was working and it had become so addictive. It was so rewarding to see the results I was getting from putting all the hard work in. My whole demeanor changed. I was so happy and full of life I loved my new body. I signed up for a second 8 week challenge again, which was run by Angela. This time I was happy to help, being a mentor to others who where in the same boat as I was only 8 short weeks ago. In the second 8 weeks Angela continued to set me fortnightly goals and adjusted my meal plan according. I continued to work out and have Angela as my personal trainer. With her help I lost 9.4 kg in the second challenge. I was a completely different person.
I continued to work out after both challenges and still used Angela as my personal trainer all the way leading up to my wedding. With Angela’s support and help I lost a huge 30.4 kg before my wedding day. It was the best day of my life. I felt so confident and proud of myself that I had worked so hard and accomplished my goal.
I could not speak highly enough in regards to Angela Zappala. She is a loving and caring person who loves her job. Her support and encouragement guided me to my target. Angela never gave up on me even though sometimes I gave up on myself. I want to thank Angela for my new lifestyle, my new body and my new love of exercise. You’re amazing and I couldn’t have done it without you.
